This is Chris Peart. Flower Seller
Chris is a flower seller on Queensway in Bayswater W2. His pitch is directly opposite Whiteleys outside The Prince Alfred Pub. The family have been selling flowers there since 1980. Chris remembers helping his father there when Whiteleys was still a Department Store, before it metamorphosed into a Shopping Centre in 1981.
Since 2018 Whiteleys has been undergoing significant redevelopment. Only the listed facade still stands. As a consequence footfall had fallen drastically even before Covid Lockdown.
Chris’s smile has never faded despite these circumstances.
Chris’s heart still beats strong in W2. He’ll never give up on Queensway and its people. He knows that good times will return soon and besides, there’s a loyal, friendly community to serve. Flowers brighten everyone’s life, especially in the darkest of times.
Some people buy their flowers from big Department Stores. We buy ours from Chris.
