This is my dear friend Dawn Green, Founder & Owner of women’s fashion store Kokoro London.

I could give you a whole load of fashion blurb about how she “creates beautiful dynamic visual concepts for the retail environment” or how her store “showcases her Kokoro ready-to-wear line alongside an international multi-brand offering”
All I know is that her work is truly gorgeous!
Dawn is responsible for styling many a celebrity as well as senior Women in Business.
Kokoro means heart; mind; spirit
Her career in fashion began with a management training course at Harvey Nichols, followed by positions at luxury fashion & lifestyle brands Feathers, Browns, Nicole Farhi and Paul Smith. At Paul Smith she worked on the creation and launch of flagship stores in Milan and Tokyo and then Kyoto and Osaka. Paul Smith is very much her hero, mentor and friend.
In 2015 she created her own company Kokoro in upmarket chi-chi Connaught Village #London.
The Silly Sausage
I met Dawn at our local pub The Leinster Arms in #Bayswater where she was such a regular that they once named a cocktail after her there.
Dawn calls everyone she loves silly sausages.
Dawn has a habit of dropping Italian words or phrases, mixed with a with a spattering of French, into the most mundane of conversations, raising the discussion to an exotic level it doesn’t really deserve:
“Basta! The best dog food comes in cans, Non?”
Don’t ever think that Dawn is a Fashion Luvvie though.
She socialises at the local pubs with local people. She can’t abide champagne: “Medium Chardonnay 2 lumps of ice please… make that a bottle to share” . She can belly laugh with the best of us and her rendition of Doris Day’s “Secret Love” (normally around midnight following Dinner at our house) is Award Winning. I play the horse to her Calamity Jane.
Dawn knows everyone in #ConnaughtVillage and everyone knows Dawn. This can be a tad tiresome as any conversation conducted on the bench & cushions outside her store is interrupted by every passer by with a Wave, Dahling or Mwah! It’s been the ruination of many a joke’s punchline. Networking is Networking though.

Dawn’s career in fashion may have spanned Europe, Asia and the Americas but her Home, her Fashion Queendom, is here in W2.
Long may the silly sausage reign.
